Active Church is a vibrant, non-denominational Christian church located in the heart of San Luis Obispo, CA, along California’s breathtaking Central Coast. Since its launch in 2017, under the leadership of Lead Pastor Adam Magana and his wife Stacy, Active Church has continued to grow and flourish, now operating out of a beautiful new facility opened in 2022.

We are seeking a Children’s Ministry Director who is passionate about creating a dynamic ministry that partners with families in leading children to Jesus. If you’re a visionary leader who loves connecting with kids, empowering parents, and building strong teams, this role is for you!
Responsibilities & Outcomes
1. Strategic Leadership
• Develop and oversee a yearly ministry calendar with purposeful programs and events that align with the mission of making church a place where families grow closer to God.
• Evaluate and improve ministry initiatives regularly, ensuring alignment with church leadership and community needs.
2. Volunteer & Team Development
• Recruit, train, and lead a strong volunteer team that excels in serving children and their families.
• Create a culture of connection, support, and spiritual growth within the team.
3. Family Engagement
• Build strong relationships with families, equipping and partnering with parents to disciple their children.
• Streamline systems for welcoming new families, check-ins, baptisms, and volunteer training.
• Communicate regularly with parents, providing resources and opportunities for involvement in their children’s spiritual development.
4. Weekly Kids Ministry Experience
• Oversee vibrant weekend ministry experiences that include worship, engaging lessons, and fun activities for kids.
• Lead a high-energy, impactful kids’ church every week.
• Plan and execute special events such as VBS, Pajama Jam, Easter Eggstravaganza, and more.
5. Community Outreach
• Organize outreach events to connect with unchurched families in the community, working in collaboration with other church ministries.
• Partner with local schools and neighborhoods to create opportunities for connection and growth.

• Experience in children’s ministry leadership or equivalent roles.
• Visionary leadership with the ability to recruit, train, and inspire volunteers.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Excellent communication and relational skills, especially with families and kids.
• Creativity and energy to design impactful programs and events.
• A heart for the unchurched and a passion for outreach.
