Job Description:

The South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University invites applications for a part-time faculty of music in Applied Violin and Viola. The position is available for August 2024.  Anderson University is a comprehensive, liberal arts institution affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. Candidates with a strong Christian value system, lifestyle, and commitment to the integration of faith and learning are encouraged to apply. Pay rates are commensurate with credentials and experience.

Qualifications: Professional experience in violin and/or viola performance and expertise in violin and viola pedagogy within diverse genres of classical & contemporary music. Candidates should demonstrate strong musicianship and a successful record of teaching at the collegiate level is preferred. A doctorate or master’s degree in music is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in music with violin or viola as a primary instrument is required.

The South Carolina School of the Arts offers Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees with majors and concentrations in graphic design, painting and drawing, ceramics, art education, photography, musical theatre, theatrical design, acting and directing, dance, commercial music, worship leadership, music education, and performance.  Each of the three departments within the South Carolina School of the Arts are fully accredited by their respective national accrediting agencies (NASM, NASAD, and NAST).

Undergraduate courses are held on site and graduate applied lessons are taught remotely (online).
