Job Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for directing the activities and use of resources necessary to support the organization’s programs, events, animals and facilities.  This individual will lead the staff and volunteers to embrace the organization’s values and to fulfill its mission.        

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for operations including program administration, facility management and animal care.
  • Collaborate with program director and educational staff to develop and implement innovative educational programs and curricula that align with Hidden Hills Ranch’s mission, values and objectives.
  • Support and direct the Program Manager to implement all organization programs and events. Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional growth, teamwork and excellence.
  • Work with the Board treasurer on budgeting, managing expenditures to meet budget expectations ensuring the efficient use of resources. Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings.
  • Direct the Facility Manager to ensure the availability, maintenance, cleanliness and safety of all facilities.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with schools, community organizations, donors and stakeholders to promote Hidden Hills Ranch’s programs and expand its reach within the community. Represent the organization at meetings, events and networking opportunities to enhance visibility and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree preferably in business, education or related field
  • 5 years experience in operations management, program development or educational administration
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Must embrace the organization’s values and mission
  • Equine experience a plus
  • Prior experience in education and event planning preferred

Hidden Hills Ranch is a 27 year-old nonprofit organization operating in beautiful Salinas, CA.  We provide varied education programs for local youth and adults including horse and pony lessons, outdoor education classes, summer camps, school field trips and animal therapy sessions.  Our outdoor programs enable the participants to encounter God through the beauty of His creation and through the animals He created.   Our organization was founded on strong Christian values and we seek to follow these values in all that we do.  Our Board and management team all share these values.
