 Church History/Vision

Magnolia Bible Church History and Vision

Magnolia Bible Church (MBC) was founded 16 years ago as a church plant by Cypress Bible Church, Tomball Bible Church and Faith Bible Church.  Today we have about 350 or so members and regular attendees.  It began as a Bible study led by Scot Wall the son of Dr. Joe Wall, who served as pastor at Spring Branch Community Church and later at Cypress Bible Church.

Pastor Scot has been a wonderful, compassionate teacher/leader since our beginning and we’re not losing him but rather sending him out as a missionary to our Texas State Legislature where he will serve in a chaplain type role.  We’re excited for him and are supporting/partnering with him.

MBC’s history began as a Bible study that met in a home and grew into a small church meeting in a community center for 10 years until we built our own facility in 2012.  Today we have a 33,500 sq/ft multi-functional facility situated on the front 5 acres of a 10 acre tract of beautiful wooded property.  Our facility has plenty of parking and is located on a key road very accessible to the Magnolia area.  We hold our Sunday morning services in the main auditorium which can seat 500 and also serves as a basketball/volley ball court.  We have wonderful facilities for our youth/student ministry, children’s ministry and administration.  We have two fully functioning kitchens, library and adult Sunday school classrooms.

MBC is an elder led church.  The pastor serves as an elder and reports to the elders.  We have male and female “Servant Leaders” who function as deacons and head our various ministries which include worship/AV, prayer, men’s, women’s, children’s and student/youth ministries as well as missions.  MBC is a non-denominational, conservative evangelical church that stresses a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; seeks to teach people God’s word and apply it to their lives; encourages them to use their time, talents and treasures to serve God’s Kingdom and prepare for the judgment seat of Christ.

MBC has a lean full time paid staff which includes the senior pastor, student/youth pastor and our college/career pastor and therefore depends heavily on the volunteer support of our thriving men’s, women’s and student/youth ministries to serve our staff and elders.  We also have two part time administrative secretaries who serve our staff.

Our goal is to partner with other evangelical churches in our area to see that the 130,000 people living in our metro area come to a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are active in world missions and many in our church are actively involved in short term mission trips.  MBC, by tradition is a grace oriented, compassionate and giving church that strives to avoid legalism and divisions over non salvation issues.  We seek to teach people not to hide from this dark world but rather be a light, serving in our community and their sphere of influence using God’s power and Word.

About Magnolia Bible Church

Magnolia Bible Church began 16 years ago as a Bible study. Seven years ago, we built a multi-functional facility to fit our growing number of regular attendees. Today, we are a church of over 600 in weekly attendance.

We are a non-denominational, evangelical church that stresses a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Our hope is to see people learn God’s Word and apply it to their lives. MBC is a grace-oriented, compassionate, and giving church.

Our hope is to see the 130,000+ people living in our area come to a personal relationship with the Lord whether that be through our various in-house ministries, evangelism outreaches, or our Sunday morning worship services. We anticipate the population of the greater Magnolia area will triple in the next decade. We are positioning the church to reach our expanding community.

We also recognize the importance of reaching the rest of the world through missions. We actively support missionaries around the globe and many in our church actively go on mission trips.

God has already done so much in Magnolia, the surrounding areas, and the world through what started as a Bible study, and He is going to continue to do so much more. We believe God’s Kingdom can and will be forever impacted by the work the Lord is doing in and through Magnolia Bible Church.
