Mineral Springs United Methodist Churchis seeking a full-time Director of Next Gen Ministries. This position will provide leadership and direction for effective MSUMC middle school, high school, and young adult ministries – including program development and leadership as well as recruiting, training, and oversight of volunteer leaders to enable effective ministries; youth community outreach and missions; and management of the Next Gen ministry budget.

 

Essential Functions

  • Design, implement, and continue to build upon an existing student and young adult programs that integrate relationship building, worship, spiritual formation, and missional opportunities
  • Collaborate with volunteers to develop opportunities for Next Gen ministries
  • Recruit, develop and train students and adult leaders who wish to participate in the planning and execution of Next Gen and church-wide ministries
  • Collaborate with church staff and key lay leaders to integrate the Next Gen ministry into the overall life of the church
  • Provide oversight and support for weekend and midweek programs to include Christian education and social time
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of the Next Gen ministry budget
  • Maintain adequate and appropriate communication with students, parents, and the church regarding Next Gen ministries.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills in a variety of settings
  • Strong commitment to continuing education

 

A successful candidate will have:

  • Passion for walking alongside young persons in their faith journeys
  • Vision for the growth of students’ faith, and for the growth of the Next Gen ministries
  • Bachelor's degree desired; Religious studies or further theological education preferred
  • Experience leading and/or working with student ministries
Terms of Employment
  • At-Will
  • 40 hours/week salary commensurate with experience
  • $30-35 per year, plus travel
  • Office space with computer provided
