Associate Children's ministry Director
Summary:
Central believes that a healthy, thriving children’s ministry is important to reaching and growing children for Christ. It is also important for encouraging/equipping parents to pastor their own children. The Children’s Ministry Coordinator (CMC) will serve as part of the Children’s Ministry staff.
Time Commitment and Relationship:
This is a full-time position that qualifies for benefits. The CMC will report to the Children’s Ministry Director and will work under the supervision of the Next Gen Lead.
Primary responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Children’s Ministry Director, the CMC provides strategy, oversight and organization of volunteers in children’s ministry (birth – 5th grade).
Assists in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families.
Assists in recruiting, growing, and sustaining a large volunteer base for weekend/special programming and events.
Assists in recruiting and organizing a creative team of volunteers for large group programming.
Helps plan/lead special events such as camps, summer events, holiday events and community outreach.
Assist with curriculum development.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Central’s Statement of Faith.
Passion for reaching/growing children in Christ and equipping/encouraging parents and caregivers to do the same.
Degree in Children’s Ministry, Education or other relevant degree preferred.
Experience working with children and their parents in a Children’s Ministry, camp ministries, or educational setting.
Strong interpersonal skills with children and their parents as well as both student and adult volunteers.
Willingness to serve with a positive attitude. Has a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with co-workers, volunteers, parents and children.
Excellence in written/verbal communication skills.
A high level of initiative and ability to work independently; ability to perform duties with minimal direction and supervision to complete a task within assigned deadlines.
Ability to anticipate needs, be highly organized, pay attention to detail, multi-task, and be an efficient time manager.
Ability to teach in large group settings, as needed.
Ability to recruit, equip, encourage volunteers.
Member, or willing to become a member, of Central Church.
Ability to embrace and embody the mission, vision and distinctives of Central.
Attendance during weekend service, meetings, and other events determined by the Children’s Ministry Director and Next Gen Lead.
Maintain regular weekday office hours.
Competence in all related church software and database systems.
