Missionary, Southwest Kenya                        

Full time, Combination Salary/Support Raised*

 

Oasis for Orphans is a Christian organization dedicated to rescuing and developing orphaned children in Southwest Kenya. Our approach is the Holistic Development of each child’s spiritual, educational, physical, and social well-being. 

 

We deal with children who have been malnourished physically, spiritually and emotionally. They come to Oasis in dire need, struggling with various medical and non-medical issues. Oasis first provides a soft place to land-- surrounded by loving people who lovingly care for their souls.

 

We are dedicated to team ministry. We want to set examples of healthy spiritual community for our children and Kenyan staff. We work through relational challenges, embrace hard places, and push ourselves to maturity. People who apply need to be flexible, teachable, interested in living/doing team, and be dedicated to the development of vulnerable children. Lastly, applicants should be open to the voice of the Holy Spirit and willing to embrace His leading.

 

Key responsibilities include:

These positions will be part of a team helping kids who are struggling in classroom and Children’s Home Community.

 

This will be accomplished through 1-on-1 meetings, Homeschool Programs, and working in Oasis Schools.

 

Applicants should be comfortable in the classroom and small group setting.

 

Successful candidates will: 

  • Be interested in early childhood development- educationally, emotionally, and spiritually
  • Preferably have a degree in education and/or counseling (ECD/Elementary Teachers and/or Childhood Counselors)
  • Have 2-3 years’ work experience
  • Have verifiable work experience
  • Have verifiable spiritual community
  • Be able to pass a background check
  • Be able to work independently and interdependently
  • Preferably have international missions experience and/or exposure

 

*Oasis is looking for candidates willing to make 6-month to 2-year commitments.

 

*This is a salary/support raised position. We use a proven fundraising/coaching method funded by Oasis. The long-term goal with all of our positions is to be 100% support raised. Oasis is willing to subsidize funding transitionally for qualified candidates.
