Worship Pastor

CHURCH DESCRIPTION:

Wilson Praise and Worship is a non-denominational, multi-cultural church with a focus on family and community. We exist to represent Christ to our community and world and make known His character so that they might see Jesus and realize all that God has planned for them! Our weekend services are designed to reach the un-churched and un-saved and our small groups are geared towards encouraging and building great relationships with one another. We are located in Wilson, NC, right in the middle of everything; a short drive from the bustling triangle of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill and the college town of Greenville, NC, home of ECU.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Worship Pastor at Wilson Praise and Worship leads the Worship Team and works directly with the Production Team. The WP’s primary role is to create a high level, passionate, engaging, and authentic worship environment during our weekend services and any other conferences or meeting times. The WP also is required to develop, schedule, rehearse, and pastor volunteers who serve on the worship/production teams. The ability to recruit, lead, and develop volunteers is essential. This position reports to the Administrative Pastor and has the following requirements:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Follower of Jesus Christ.
2. Demonstrated ability to envision, energize, build, motivate, and lead teams.
3. Demonstrated ability to utilize problem-solving skills.
4. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively under the pressure of time constraints.
5. Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
6. 3+ years of experience leading worship is strongly recommended.
7. A Bachelors's degree is a plus.
8. The ability to play multiple instruments is a plus. 
9. A self-starter and a team player with a positive attitude.
10. *The ability to serve as the youth pastor as a secondary role is a plus but is not necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES & COMMITMENTS:

1. Lead, plan, create, and schedule worship for WPW weekend services, conferences, and special events.
2. Ability and experience using Planning Center is required.
3. Work with and co-lead the Production Team to ensure a first-class audio and video experience during services.
4. Responsible to help with the brainstorming & execution of worship experiences.
5. Build, develop, Manage loop tracks via the Prime App on MacBook Air and during worship sets.
6. The ability to chart songs and easily change keys during rehearsals is a must.
7. Lead band rehearsals and develop musicians to ensure the worship experience is executed to the best of everyone’s collective ability.
8. Help maintain planning center services, volunteer scheduling, pro-presenter and ensure all song selections are properly licensed.
9. Continued sharpening of musical skills.
10. Be a student of music & culture – actively working on new music and trends.
11. Help to instill and lead a strong serving culture in Worship and Production.
12. Shepherd and lead the Worship Team and other worship leaders to foster growth, unity and a collaborative atmosphere.
13. Plan, lead, and conduct worship small group during small group semester.
14. Plan and execute regular rehearsals, conference trips, and outside activities for the worship team.  
15. Oversee auditions, ensuring follow-up of each musician or vocalist in a timely manner.
16. Set and tear down stage, sanctuary, and any special event as needed.
17. Work with the production team to help ensure mics, plugins, and audio mixes are done correctly, handling any issues that arise in a timely manner.
18. Responsible to help with some of the execution of creative programming elements as needed.
19. Help provide pastoral care for the people of Wilson Praise and Worship.
20. Work with the Administrative Pastor and Production team to further develop and enhance stage design and layout.
