Job Title: Minister of Music & Youth
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: Depending on experience
Principle Function: To lead all aspects of the contemporary worship service and assist the church in planning, directing and promoting the youth programs, special youth projects, assignments and events.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the ministerial staff, Board of Elders and other appropriate committees in planning, evaluating and coordinating all youth and contemporary music services of the church
• Actively recruit new youth to the church; set quarterly goals for youth membership
• To have knowledge of and the use of social media and other means to communicate with youth, to advertise youth and church activities and the ability to use media in Sunday morning services
• Develop relationships with local school officials and be available to visit the schools
• Remain current of trends in youth education
• Conduct weekly youth gatherings/Bible studies
• Work closely with sound board and technical volunteers
• Work with the pastor in selecting music for regular and special worship services
• Build the Praise Band membership to reflect a well-rounded team of vocalists and musicians
• Monitor the purchasing, maintenance and replacement of all music-related equipment, supplies and instruments
• Keep informed of contemporary music methods and materials
• Become an active member of the church including participating in church events
Desired Qualifications:
• 3 years of experience leading youth activities
• 2 years of experience leading a praise and worship team
• Experience in counseling youth and/or parents
• Be a self-Starter with a desire to see people come to Christ
