Job Description:
Life Baptist Church of West LA (LBC) is seeking a senior pastor to lead and shepherd our congregation to grow in Christ-likeness, share the gospel, and raise disciples of Jesus Christ. LBC is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention; however, we are open to considering candidates from other denominations. 
 
Job Description and Responsibilities

  1. Full-time position serving the church by providing a balanced ministry of spiritual leadership, preaching, teaching, and pastoral care

  2. Motivate and train leaders

  3. Equip all members of the congregation to live Christ-centered lives by developing and/or teaching appropriate discipleship and ministry programs

  4. Oversee and participate in fellowship meetings, prayer meetings, and mission activities

  5. Be a strong advocate of growing our church and reaching out to our surrounding community with the gospel of Jesus Christ

 

Qualifications

  1. Model life of faith: Christ-centered, prayer-driven, biblical values

  2. Exhibit qualities of servant leadership described in Matthew 20:25-28 and 1 Peter 5:1-4: humility, eager to serve, not greedy, setting an example for the flock

  3. Baptized through immersion

  4. Confirmed calling by God to a pastoral role

  5. Master of Divinity degree (or equivalent degree) from an accredited seminary; applicants nearing graduation will also be considered

  6. Expository style of preaching and able to present the Word of God in a relevant and engaging way

  7. Strong communication skills

  8. Passionate about young adult and family ministry

  9. Able to connect with a diverse community

  10. The scriptural qualifications of the pastor found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7
