Bethel Church is searching for a Communications Manager who will aid us in effectively directing the church’s overall marketing and strategic plans for internal and external communications. Being a church averaging over 3,000 weekly attendees with 3 campuses and multiple venues, our communication strategy needs to be succinct, in line with Scripture, accessible to all who attend and visit, and also make sense to the outlying and “unchurched” community. In addition, this person will guide our church in how we utilize print media, graphic design, video, website, podcasts, social media, consistent and modern branding, and up-front presentations to convey our message. We realize that these powerful tools and technologies can be amazingly effective. This is BIG job with lots of moving parts, but since we are a healthy and growing church/staff, the challenge should be exciting and life-giving!
The ideal candidate for this position will be highly organized, administrative, and a self-starter. They must also possess strong analytical skills and an attention to detail that is vital for content editing/proofing. Their thoroughness will be reflected through the development and coordination of various and simultaneous projects. This person must also be gifted in presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. Last but not least, this candidate will utilize their creative gifting in coordination with various teams, including a creative team, to help Bethel and its ministries think outside-the-box as they deliver God’s message.
Other desired qualifications for this position include but are not limited to a college degree (communication, marketing, business or church administration is preferred) or 3+ years in a similar position. A solid background in marketing management and strategic planning, complemented with a proven track record in developing and administering a marketing program is highly desirable as well. This person must have a working knowledge of the creation of graphic/video media presentations. With technology changing everyday, it is important for us to find someone who embraces technology, video, and social media as a medium for communication Finally, the perfect candidate must be a team-player, knows how to have fun, and enjoy working with goofy co-workers is a must!
