REGIONAL MANAGER / OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD

Position Locations: Franklin, TN (Nashville); Columbia, MD; Minneapolis, MN - Chicago, IL: Albany, NY


Operation Christmas Child is a dynamic, fast-paced ministry of Samaritan's Purse that transforms lives around the world through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We praise God for his provision of growth in the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child and are excited to open additional leadership positions within four of our regional offices in the United States. The Mid-South, Mid-Atlantic, Upper Midwest and Northeast regions are vibrant regions in the country in shoe box generation and the stewardship of thousands of volunteers. The goal is to continue to take the ministry to the next level by retaining current participants and growing the scope and reach across these regions, primarily through the development of leader volunteers. Samaritan’s Purse is seeking effective leaders, ready for a challenge, with experience managing high capacity volunteers.

The Regional Manager is responsible for leading ministry efforts in a defined geographic area, specifically:
• Coordinating with the Regional Director, Administrative Assistant and Associate staff to implement strategic plans and initiatives in the areas of office health, prayer, volunteer relations, church relations, community relations, media relations, logistics and operations;
• Spiritually leading volunteers;
• Recruiting, selecting, equipping (training), leading, and developing year-round leader volunteers according to the High Impact model of volunteer ministry;
• Serving on the management team in one of the regional Operation Christmas Child Processing Centers for four to six weeks in November and December.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in volunteer leadership and management, including motivating and leading volunteer teams in implementing and achieving program goals related to recruiting and retaining participation in the program through church and community groups; facilitating prayer support; building media awareness; and coordinating a regional volunteer run logistics network to collect gifts for the neediest children worldwide. Strong written and verbal communications skills required. Bachelor’s degree preferred, including 12-credit hours of college-level Biblical studies preferred.

Responsibilities include travel throughout the Area Regions. Yearly travel averages 80 days/nights per year.
