JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Director of Children & Family Ministries will be responsible to inspire, motivate, coordinate, train, and support our members and volunteers in the areas of Children’s Ministry and Discipleship. Our mission is to Make
Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of Abilene Texas, by Witnessing, Worshipping and Giving.
Primary Responsibilities include but not limited to the successful organization, administration and enhancement of the following programs or areas:
SUNDAY SCHOOL (Adult, Nursery and Elementary Ages to include Mid--High School)
CHILDREN MINISTRIES (i.e. Confirmation, Bible Retreat)
SUMMER BIBLE PROGRAMS for ELEMENTARY AGES
WEDNESDAY NIGHT FAMILY PROGRAMING /BIBLE STUDY (Coordinate Meals and Programing)
MISSIONS (On the Street Ministries, Mission Events and Volunteer Recruitment and Training)
DENOMINATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES (Provide involvement in UM District Level activities for
children as required)
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL STUDY (Continuing Education and Professional Study
Development)
ACCOUNTABILITY (Directly Supervised by the Senior Pastor in a Team Oriented Environment)
REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED:
Bachelor’s Degree
Curriculum Development Experience/Understanding
Volunteer Management Experience
Prior Church Ministry Experienc
