Children's Ministry Director

The Children’s Ministry Director oversees all aspects of our children's ministry (babies through 5th grade). This is currently a part-time position (20-30 hours per week) but this position may expand into a full time role.  Our program currently consists of: Wednesday night Branches children’s worship/activities program and Sunday morning nursery, preschool (3 years -Pre-KG), and children’s church (KG-2^nd grade) and 3^rd5^th grade lesson.  With the children’s ministry team, the Director will look for opportunities to expand our reach and programming for children.

Responsibilities

• Nursery/ Pre-K ( 0-5 year olds)  o           hire, train and manage part-time staff for Nursery o     coordinate volunteers to assist staff in nursery o oversee check-in/check-out procedures for children
• School-aged children ( KG – 5^th grade) o            oversee and lead children's church with support from volunteers o     oversee and lead children's Sunday lessons with support from volunteers
• oversee and lead time with children during worship service with support from volunteers o      oversee and lead children’s programs on Wednesdays with support from volunteers o          oversee and lead our “backyard Bible clubs/ vacation Bible  school” during the summer of

2017 with support from  volunteers o oversee and lead the development of a children's choir/worship group with support from volunteers and creative arts leader

• Team Leader
• recruit, train, schedule and support all children’s ministry volunteers with support from volunteer leaders
• oversee background checks and necessary documentation/recordkeeping  o             coordinate updates of our website with pertinent children’s ministry information o     plan children’s ministry events with the children’s ministry committee
• coordinate outreach opportunities for children’s ministry with support from volunteers and the children’s ministry team
• work with the children's ministry committee in identifying and implementing curriculum for

Sunday school and children’s church o   follow and enforce all child safety procedures and policies and update as needed

Accountability

• reports to the pastor and leadership of children's ministry team and children's ministry elder
