Job Description:

White’s Residential and Family Services, a Christ-Centered non-profit organization, is seeking a Vice President of Advancement to broaden its fundraising capacity and, subsequently, enable our programs to reach success at new levels.  Since establishing its fundraising program in 1994, White’s has successfully completed three Capital Campaigns; established an endowment; created an annual fund program and created a Communications department. With the addition of this key position, White’s will expand its reach and restore, rebuild, and redirect the lives of more children, teens, and families through its programs.


Job Summary:  The VP of Advancement will report to the CEO and serve as a key leadership team member making strategic decisions affecting all of White’s.  The VP will also serve as the chief development officer for the institution with primary responsibility for building and growing White’s fundraising program, including capital campaign planning and implementation, major gift solicitation and attainment, and strengthening the organization’s overall fundraising capacity.  In addition, the VP of Advancement will provide strategic and financial oversight for the Marketing and Communications department. 


The VP will spend approximately 50% of his or her time out-of-the office engaged with current and potential donors.  Primary office location may be in Wabash, Indianapolis, or Fort Wayne.

 

This person must demonstrate strong commitment and personal connection to the Christian faith and be aligned with the values and core beliefs of White’s. 

 

  • A bachelor’s degree is required; a Masters is highly desirable.
  • 7+ years of fundraising experience with 2+ years of major gift fundraising in particular is highly desired. Other relative experience – such as in marketing and/or sales - that requires similar skillsets, extensive face-to-face interaction with others, and strategic relationship management will be considered.
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience managing people and leading a department is required.
