You would be working closely with the Lead Pastor to execute the vision of GVF: making a Gospel impact across our region impact by multiplying disciples, sites, partnerships, & church plants. Much of what you’d be doing is coaching, inspiring, & empowering the staff and ministry. You would also have some more “traditional” pastoral hats to wear, like training, teaching, & overseeing pastoral care. If we were a football team, you’d be the offensive coordinator, working to execute our game-day plan. If we were a corporation, you’d be the COO. But, as it turns out, we are a church, so you’ll be called “pastor.”

Here are the major areas you to which you would be contributing:

  • Advising on Strategic Decisions & Managing Staff Members (Executive Team).
  • Side-by-Side Leader (Staff Liaison to Ministry Leaders).
  • Upfront Person (Speaking, Training, Teaching, & Occasional Preaching).
  • Under-Shepherd (Pastoral Care).

Bonus Features. You don’t have to do any of these, but we would consider any/all of these an added bonus: passion/ability to train in personal evangelism; interest/experience in budget, facilities, & policymaking; HR experience/knowledge; ability to do one-armed pushups (just kidding about the last one).

About New Story Church

Well, hello there!  We’re New Story Church. We long to become a church where life transformation is normal. By “life transformation” we mean a Romans-12-radical-inside-out kind of transformation. Here’s a message that unpacks it a bit more. While our church has some history, it is really a new thing. 18 months ago, two churches merged, but it wasn’t as simple as 1+1=2. Since the merger, attendance has nearly doubled. Somehow it was more like 1+1=4. We’ve spent the past year and a half trying to catch up with what God is doing: expanding the sanctuary, launching a building project, adding staff, rebranding as New Story, and beginning to take our first steps towards becoming a church where life transformation is normal.
