Job Description:

     The Director of the Power Plant Technology Program is responsible for all aspects of teaching an educational program, to include curriculum, instruction, facilities, scheduling, and assessment resulting in the graduates earning an Associate’s degree in Specialized Technology. The Director reports to the VP/Dean of Education. As Director of the Physical Plant Facilities, the position will work with the Facilities Manager in the Plans & Operations department to oversee the power systems throughout the campus and augment PECO utility power, as needed. The Director supervises two, full-time faculty and several adjuncts and oversees their instruction and training. The Director’s instructional duties encompass classroom lecturing, developing and updating curriculum, conducting regular testing and evaluation of student progress, issuing necessary syllabi and course outlines, and supervising student workers in selected power plant projects and activities. All instructors are encouraged to assist students in adjusting to the established disciplinary standards and in internalizing the vital moral and ethical values emphasized at Williamson.

     The Program Director for Power Plant Technology must have an Associate’s degree in power generation or related discipline with at least ten years of progressively responsible experience to the level of power plant administrator.  Bachelor or Master’s degree preferred.
