JOB DESCRIPTION |
Ministry and Staff Administration
- Champion the mission of CLC by providing spiritual direction, vision and leadership to the congregation, pastoral staff, administrative staff and Board of Deacons
- Consistently preach and teach the Word of God in love with grace, power and integrity and without partiality
- Cast vision and biblical instruction throughout Sunday and Wednesday services, small groups, special services and events
- Administer, direct, and/or preside over the congregation for sacerdotal functions (i.e., Communion, Baptisms, Baby Dedications, Funerals, and Weddings)
- Oversee and/or set direction for all church services ensuring their effective witness
- Implement strategic vision to grow the congregation spiritually and numerically – challenging the congregation to act in accordance with the vision
- Prepare, instruct and equip the congregation to do the work of the ministry – empowering leaders to use their gifts
- Model true godly character, competence and wisdom
- Provide counseling when necessary to church members and families to include premarital counseling
- Provide leadership, direction and vision to the pastoral staff through guidance, encouragement, counsel, and discipline
- Maintain established relationship and open lines of communication with the Board of Deacons on all matters of significance pertaining to the general welfare of the congregation, business and financials, as well as, but not limited to staff development
and relations
- Equip, train and grow the ministry skills of the pastoral staff team and Board of Deacons to carry out the ministry’s vision
- Oversee the supervision of the pastoral staff, office staff and volunteers
- Provide direct oversight to the Executive Pastor
- Manage, develop and foster effective relationship between the Board of Deacons and Pastoral Staff team
- Set parameters on all ministry activities ensuring consistency with CLC Culture, Mission, Values and Vision.
- Provide guidance and instruction to pastoral staff, team leaders, and volunteers as needed
- Lend support to the pastors whenever possible by being present for most events and important functions
- Communicate and conduct weekly meetings with the pastors and monthly board meetings with the Board or as needed to make recommendations as required – Chair all meetings
- Provide coaching, mentoring and evaluation to the pastors or other instructors to ensure consistent, biblically sound, Spirit-led teaching and ministry to the congregation or auxiliary groups
- Create accountability for desired ministry outcomes
- Serve as Chairman of the Board of Deacons
- Serve as an ex officio chair of the pastoral staff team; and ex officio member of all church ministry teams
- Conduct the annual All Church Council Meeting held each year in the month of March
- Undergo an annual performance review by the Board of Deacons each November
- Act as direct advocate of church growth, church planting, capital campaigns and building expansion projects
- Actively seek out new opportunities for greater community impact and outreach
- Perform other duties as needed, i.e. event host, hospital visitations, etc.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS |
- At least 10 years of full time pastoral leadership experience in a large (3,500 member or above) church
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working collaboratively with boards focused on fulfilling the mission and vision
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience supervising employees

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
|
- Minimum Bachelor degree, Masters degree preferred
- Minimum credentialed with the Assemblies of God
