Production Manager – Direct Mail, Books, General Procurement

Salem Eagle one of America’s largest philosophically-conservative publishing companies, conveniently located on Capitol Hill, near the Union Station Metro (Red Line) stop has an excellent, immediate opening for an  experienced print buyer or direct marketing production manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Procure and analyze the purchasing of book publications and ensure book production is on time and budget
• Manage quality control on jacket printing and binding to ensure highest level of quality on Salem Eagle products
• Develop, manage relationships and expectations with external vendors including impending deliveries and special needs or requirements
• Identify opportunities that focus on cost reduction including interviewing new vendors, requesting and analyzing cost estimates
• Coordinate the printing, mailing and distribution of Eagle Financial Publication products and Eagle Wellness products
• Issue purchase orders and  ensure proper documentation is administered for all orders and shipping 

Key qualifications include:

• 3-5 years experience in print production and direct mail, postal regulations,  project management, and inventory management
• Knowledge of all aspects of the printing and letter shop services supporting multiple Direct Mail campaigns
• Possess  excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail  oriented with strong organizational skills
• “Can do!” attitude a must
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
