St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church is seeking a person to fill an upcoming vacancy being created by the scheduled retirement of Rev. Dr. Donald Edwards, who has served our congregation since 1993. Pastor Edwards will continue to serve our congregation until an individual has accepted the call of pastoral leadership at St. Andrew.
Our church, by congregational vote, left the ELCA in 2010 to join the more biblical sound Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ. We are located in the historic town of Muncy, PA in Lycoming County situated in the beautiful setting of central Pennsylvania, the birthplace of Little League Baseball. Our area is blessed with many means of entertainment, relaxation, and recreational activities which satisfies most people’s desire.
We currently conduct two (2) worship services each Sunday. An 8:15 AM liturgical service and a 10:45 AM blended / contemporary style service. Sunday school for all ages is provided between the worship services. St. Andrew is a handicap accessible church equipped with an audio system and a computerized video system. We currently have approximately 275 confirmed / voting members, and an average weekly attendance of 125 from both services. Our financial status is stable, and we are offering a competitive compensation package for the qualified person who is called to lead our church.
We support the LCMC by sending 10 percent of our Benevolence giving in addition to a monthly outreach ministry which is selected by our Congregational Council. These proceeds support such ministries as Salvation Army, Disaster Relief Funds, Pregnancy Care, Pastor Funds, American Rescue, Veteran Associations, and many more.
