SRN News, Washington, DC - Assistant Chief Engineer
SRN News is seeking an assistant to the Chief Engineer in our DC-area facilities. Responsibilities will include maintenance, repair and general oversight of the broadcast, telecom and IT equipment for SRN News and the syndicated talk show “Bill Bennett’s Morning In America”. Under the supervision of the chief engineer, this person will offer assistance and technical guidance to the staff, as well as advise & suggest upgrades/changes for the SRN Newsroom/studios, remote booths at the White House and U.S. Capitol, as well as the Bennett show suite. Will work with company IT division as local hands-on service tech when needed.
Applicants need to have at least 2 years of experience as a broadcast engineering assistant and be able to troubleshoot and repair all aspects of studio equipment, telecommunications equipment, and computer systems for broadcast, as well as provide assistance in user-friendly studio design. Must live in Washington, D.C. metro area and be familiar with network radio operation and have experience with studio/office construction and wiring. Must be an excellent communicator and exhibit professional follow-up characteristics.
