Background:
New Latitude was started as a local antique transfer service company in Birmingham, Alabama. They were, and remain, involved with all aspects of the antique transportation realm for our clients, including, receiving and unloading shipments from Europe, storage, in-house transfer, delivery, and final placement. They provide next-level moving solutions, delivery options and unmatched customer service for local, long-distance and commercial moves. 
 
 
Position - Scheduler (Birmingham, AL)

Majority of this person's time will be spent on the phone - receiving and making calls. Effective communication skills are a necessity. The Scheduler needs to be have high follow through. 

 

Job Responsibilities 
  • Routing/scheduling/calling delivery routes 
  • Updating customers' systems
  • Invoicing/closing out previous day delivery
  • Acting as dispatch as deliveries are updated
  • Doing customers surveys regarding delivery experience
Day in the Life 

 

This person will start the day by closing out the previous days deliveries. Updating the system, the store, etc. They will then do a few quick surveys from previous day deliveries. The remainder of their day will be spent organizing and calling future routes as well as fielding updates from the field.

 

Compensation
  • Staring Salary: $28K - $32K
  • Year 1-3: $36K - $40K
  • Year 3-5: $40K - $50K
  • Performance bonus could result in additional $2,000-$5,000. If company score with customer is certain number there will be bonus. If delivered revenue exceeds goals bonus will also be given.
  • Benefits: 2 weeks vacation. Half of single insurance coverage.

Training & Development 

  

The Scheduler will shadow existing schedulers and spend time with customers to understand their procedures and expectations.

 

Evaluations 

  

Performance is measured by amount of deliveries scheduled, how well informed everyone surrounding this person is, and if they are able to stay ahead of the duties and not behind. Our customer has a scheduling/delivery matrix they we are scored on. This person responsibility will be to see that we are performing well within that matrix.
